News about Roots-Finding Trip 2022

The Roots-Finding Trip for the year of 2022 is still canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, Cathwel keeps providing searching to the families or individuals in need although it is difficult to have reunions. We wish everything returns normal soon and look forward to holding the next trip in the year of 2023, God willing.

Greetings from Cathwel

Dear friends,

It is really a special year in 2021!We have experienced the level 3 alert from the epidemic. Children studied from home and had the longest summer vacation; and staff took risky commuting or worked from home. God seems to be asking us to learn what anxiety is through the challenge of the epidemic and how to pray quietly and keep hope!

In this great plague, our children and social workers overcome technological constraints to develop many creative activities and services, for example online cooking/music programs across floors in Jonah House, three-way video meetings for connecting parents- children relationship, and handmade books of Catholic icons.
Particularly, there were around 30 families from different countries who endured up to 21 days of quarantine and self-health monitoring, personally came to Taiwan to pick up our children waiting for adoption. I am deeply moved.

I would like to express my gratitude to the benefactors, who have sponsored and supported our mission. Thanks to the guidance of God, who keeps sending His angels, big or small, to come to our aid in times of hardship.
In the new year, I am glad that Sr. Rosa as our consultant would like to spend more time with us. Please accept her warmest greetings to you all.

I wish you Happy New Year and have a peaceful and healthy life in 2022!
