Roots-Finding Trip 2025
Only online application is accepted
Cathwel has regularly organized Roots-Finding Trip since 2006. However, due to limitations in manpower and relevant resources, along with a significant increase in applications from adoptees after COVID-19, the quota we can offer may fall far short of demand.
Currently, Cathwel has dedicated social workers providing roots finding service for adoptees returning to Taiwan individually. If any adoptees have needs for individual roots finding, please feel free to contact us.
The Roots-Finding Trip is a group-based program. Before applying, it is suggested to assess if adapting to group living and activities, including sharing accommodations with others and following a group itinerary, or consider if individual trips to Taiwan for roots finding might be more suitable.
Application from January 20, 2025
●The online application form will be opened from 00:00, January 20, 2025 (Taiwan time). Please pay close attention to announcement on Cathwel’s website: http://www.cs.org.tw
●The online application process includes uploading relevant attachments and completing questionnaire for roots-finding within two weeks. It will be considered an incomplete application and will not be accepted if not uploading required attachments by the deadline.

Acceptance quota
●Limited to 12 participants, with 3 stand-bys.
●Cathwel reserves the right to make the final decision on acceptance.
Applicant Requirements
●Has to be an adoptee from Cathwel Service
●Between the age of 18-25
●Adoptees who have never returned to Taiwan for reunion will take priority.
About Event
●The trip will take place within July-August, 2025.
●Event includes a cultural fieldtrip around Taiwan, volunteer work at Jonah House and reunion.
●Cathwel Service provides accommodation and board. Participants are responsible for the airfare and personal expenses.
●Airport transportation can be arranged.
●Anyone who wishes to find his/her birth family, please specify in the application form.
